A kana word appears; type it with the flick keyboard. Tap for the A-row, swipe left for I, up for U, right for E, down for O - the standard Japanese smartphone input. Your score is the number of characters typed correctly in 30 seconds, and your best score decides your grade, from 10th class up through 1st class, the dan ranks, and Master (which keeps going). Only words without voiced marks appear, so all of them can be typed with the ten keys.
